Terrence & Heather's Philly Art Museums Session

November 12, 2019

You might already know if you've visited my About page that I was born and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia before moving to Colorado in 2012. As it happens, Colorado is where I met Heather and Philadelphia is where we photographed this anniversary session. I really can't say enough about how much I love these two. I left in all of the best bloopers, we created absolutely timeless images, and we ended their session over beers at Love City Brewing. I should mention that Heather is a photographer and Terrence is a writer. Together they make up the creative team Apollo Fields. From developing cookbooks on the farm with their ever-growing collection of animals to documenting weddings in New York and Colorado, they are always creating together. As a photographer myself, it was an honor to be trusted by another professional to photograph their relationship. For their anniversary session I suggested that we wander around the most iconic art museums of Philadelphia. There could hardly be a more fitting location for these two creatives. We began at the Rodin Museum where the foliage was in full summer bloom before heading to the Philadelphia Art Museum. Rather than fight the crowds on the front "Rocky" steps, we explored the more low-key parks behind the museum, catching glimpses of Boathouse Row and the Mill House Deck. After a challenging first year of marriage, Heather and Terrence have a stronger bond and a more serene relationship to their powerful feelings for one another, which they are able to tap into at will for truly jaw-dropping poses during their engagement session. I am seriously in awe!
