F A Q
How would you describe your style?
When I'm interacting with you on a shoot, I am kind, calm, and light-hearted. And sometimes, I cheer like I'm at a sports game. That's how you know you're doing it right. When composing shots, I aim to flatter your bodies and to find a variety of angles to capture your love and your beautiful venue. My editing style is classic - I aim for true colors, natural skin tones, and a final gallery that reflects what the day truly felt like. If it was overcast and you chose romantic, soft details for your decor then your photos will look soft and romantic. If you got married on a sunny day and had a bright and colorful reception, your photos will reflect that energy. What is consistent in my editing is a flattering, film-inspired look with a commitment to creating work that will never become dated or marked by trendiness. What I will not do is pose you within an inch of your life (ugh), majorly alter you in photoshop (removing a pimple is guaranteed, but beyond that I think you're beautiful as you are), or force you to take a photo that doesn't feel authentically you (it's about you, not me).
What gear do you use for photography?
I shoot on Nikon full-frame cameras (D750 and D780) and primarily use 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, and 105mm lenses. I throw a zoom lens or two into my bag just in case. I adore natural light and golden hour, but I always have several flashes on hand for indoor receptions and nighttime dance floors. I edit using Lightroom and Photoshop on an iMac. My cats are usually asleep nearby for that part.
Do you recommend a Second Photographer for my wedding?
I highly recommend a second photographer for weddings with more than 75 guests. You’ll receive more photographs because more precious moments are captured, and it allows me be in two places at once! While I photograph you getting ready, my second shooter is with your fiancé documenting their pre-wedding rituals. While I take portraits of the newlyweds after the ceremony, my second can photograph reception details or guests at cocktail hour. They help to coordinate family portraits, act as an assistant when needed and offer a perspective on your wedding day that is unique and complementary to my own.
How long will our Online Gallery be active?
Your online gallery will be active for one year. Every image is provided in a full resolution version for printing as well as a low resolution version for easy sharing on social media and via email. Share with friends, family, co-workers, your cat. Everyone can download and print their favorite images with your full print release! You can download images individually, or download the entire gallery in a single click. You will be notified prior to the gallery's expiration with a reminder to download. Please take care to save your images in more than one place.
What if we don't need an engagement session?
Engagement sessions are an opportunity to get to know your photographer, practice posing for your wedding day, get comfortable in front of the camera, and create gorgeous images for save-the-dates, a custom guest book, etc. That being said, you can remove an engagement session from your collection for a $500 discount. You can also substitute an hour of bridal shower or rehearsal dinner coverage for even more photos with family and friends (pending availability).
Will you travel for our wedding?
Travel is one of my favorite things, and I have worked in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Florida, California., and England. My ideal wedding has an outdoor ceremony, a close-knit group of family and friends, a killer dance floor, and an awesome love story. If you have those things, I will go anywhere for you. My domestic travel fee is $750 and international travel fee is $1500. Travel fees include an extra hour of coverage at your wedding. More memories, more better!
We want to book you! What’s next?
First, I'll do a little happy dance. Next, we will have a phone call so I can learn all about you. How did you meet? What is your vision for your wedding? Do you have any cats? If we meet in person, drinks are on me. Then, a digital contract and payment information will make their way into your inbox. A signed contract and non-refundable deposit are required to officially book. Once we’re booked, we'll work together on your customized timeline and family portrait list (I've got a template for that).. I am always available via phone or email to help with designing your perfect, or just to chat (or vent) about wedding planning.
Don’t see your question? Send me an email, I'm happy to answer them!
We loved working with Dylan! She took beautiful photos for our engagement session which we will always treasure and is a joy herself. Dylan takes the time to get to know you so you can figure out exactly how you want the shoot to work. She communicates regularly before and after the shoot so you know how the process is going. When we were on the shoot she made us feel so relaxed and comfortable. Can highly recommend!
