Perched on Flagstaff Mountain is one of Boulder's top restaurants: Flagstaff House. This restaurant and its gorgeous deck command an insanely gorgeous view of Boulder and the foothills as they stretch north towards Fort Collins. In September, Merrimack, a "biopharmaceutical company that views cancer as a complex engineering challenge," visited Boulder for their corporate retreat to bring together teams from across the country. My favorite part of the evening was during the large group photo, when about 50 well-heeled employees crowded onto the deck and magically produced nude swimming caps for their photo, to show solidarity and support for the people their company ultimately serves: cancer patients. This crowd was kind and fun-loving -- just what you'd expect from a group of people that are driven to find a cure for cancer!
