A September Wedding at Boulder’s Chautauqua Dining Hall

In my opinion, Rose and Eddie's mid-September wedding at Chautauqua Dining Hall was the quintessential Boulder wedding. I cannot wait to share some of their gorgeous photos. The Dining Hall is one of my top 3 favorite venues in the state of Colorado to photograph at! Here's a few notes about why.
I actually got married at Chautauqua Dining Hall in May 2021! My husband had lived in Boulder since 2009 and I joined him in 2013. After living here for so long - and in my case, working MANY Boulder weddings - we had opinions about the best Boulder venues. Chautauqua Dining Hall stood out for its friendly staff, incredible food (everything comes from their Boulder County farm, Three Leaf), iconic views, and inviting ambiance that was not too modern and not too rustic. We had an amazing celebration and always rave about the Dining Hall.
Apart from my personal history with the Dining Hall, it has everything couples are looking for in a Boulder wedding. Central location, excellent catering + bar in house so you don't have to shop around for vendors, and the ability to take photos with iconic backdrops at Chautauqua, downtown Boulder, and up Flagstaff mountain.
The Dining Hall does not have a ceremony space inside so many couples choose to rent Sunrise Amphitheater a short drive up the mountain OR the Chautauqua Lawn just in front - as Rose and Eddie did! Contact City of Boulder Parks & Rec for information on renting the Lawn. The rental doesn't grant exclusive use of the entire lawn, but it does allow you to set up things like speakers and chairs.
Inside, the west side of the Dining Hall can be used for intimate wedding meals and there is a tent available for larger groups. Rose and Eddie had 120 guests and you can see from the photos that the tent setup was comfortable and beautiful.
Rose got ready in the Mary Galey cottage and it was gorgeous and spacious. They really nailed the design on this one! If you are getting married at the Dining Hall and want to see more photos of the Mary Galey cottage just send me an inquiry and I can share more. Eddie was in another cottage with loads of classic Chautauqua vintage charm packed into a small space. They picked up flowers from his mom's cottage on the way to the first look. After, Rose and Eddie took all of their family and wedding party portraits in the gardens behind the Dining Hall. We took some portraits of them before the ceremony but we also saved the rest for a post-dinner stroll as NEWLYWEDS to the main trailhead. Hardly any photos during cocktail hour on the front patio because they wanted to enjoy time with their guests. The cocktail hour was so fun and equally as memorable was the dance floor later where Rose added statement sleeves to her gown for the party.
I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I do, and if you are planning a wedding at the Chautauqua Dining Hall and want a photographer who knows how to design a fantastic timeline for the day, is extremely familiar with the venue and surrounding area, and makes everything feel effortless and fun PLEASE get in touch! This is seriously my dream venue!
