Welcome to Marina and Cody's July wedding at the Denver Botanic Gardens!
The day begin early in the morning with a ceremony at a Greek orthodox church. Cody's family has Greek roots and Marina's family immigrated from Serbia, so this was very important for their families. In a thoughtful and emotional move, Marina opted to wear her mother's original wedding gown for this ceremony. The couple was crowned and pronounced married, and they exited the church into a shower of money.
Several hours later we reconnected at the Clayton Members Club Hotel in Cherry Creek where Marina's hair and make-up was underway. Her wedding party worked together to steam any wrinkles out of her second gown and cathedral-length embroidered veil. Marina and Cody had a first look in the hotel lobby, seeing each other in their new formal wedding outfits before heading into a limo to the botanic gardens. Despite a light rain, we found locations to do the wedding party photos as well as all of the photos of Marina and Cody before the ceremony even started!
The floral arch and the string trio playing the prelude to the ceremony at the Romantic Gardens added a seriously romantic element to the afternoon. Guests were greeted with ice water and lemonade (it was a hot, humid day!) and asked to take their seats. After their second ceremony, officiated by a friend this time, the two were pronounced again! Wedding guests were invited to cocktail hour outdoors before being invited to a family-style dinner in Mitchell Hall. A series of toasts - a mix of heartfelt toasts and raucous roasts, my favorite - and a live band set the tone for a rowdy night on the dance floor. Exactly what Cody and Marina wanted!
Congratulations again to the newlyweds :)
