Summer Elopement at the New Sapphire Point Overlook

There has been so much chatter in my Colorado photography networks about the new Sapphire Point Overlook. Sapphire Point has been a FAVORITE spot for elopements and micro-weddings in Breckenridge for years and years. Since starting as a photographer in 2014, I have worked there countless times. Last year a project was announced to construct a new overlook for marriage ceremonies - and the old site would no longer be reservable! We waited anxiously for news, and then the announcement came: all reservations beginning June 14th this year would be at the new NORTH Overlook.

I was eager to head to Lake Dillon to explore the new site, and as luck would have it, an incredible couple found my work and hired me to photograph their wedding on July 10th! They traveled to Colorado from Chicago, bringing 26 guests to witness their vows and celebrate with them. In our initial conversations, they said they picked me because "we love how you're able to make the background dynamic." They wanted enormous landscape photos that captured everything they loved about Colorado. I knew, in that moment, the exact mountain location I wanted to whisk them away to for sunset portraits.
